SYNOPSIS

In 1963, five unruly young women attending the traditional but rapidly declining all-girls boarding school, Miss Godard’s, form a secret club called Daughters of the American Ravioli. The members divulge their secret dreams and vow not to use their higher education to become proper wives, but instead to change the world.

However, when they accidentally learn that Miss Godard’s trustees are secretly plotting to merge their school with St. Ambrose, an all-boys boarding school, the club focuses on forming an immediate and outrageous retaliation.

HISTORY

“All I Wanna Do” was written and filmed under the title “The Hairy Bird.” Under protest from the filmmakers, Miramax and Alliance Atlantis changed the title to “Strike!” and it was released under that title in Canada and in a test engagement in Seattle. After much delay, Miramax permitted Redeemable Features, the film’s production company, to release the film in New York under the title “All I Wanna Do.” That is the title on DVDs of the film in the United States and when the film plays on domestic television. In Australia, the film went out under its original title. If you want to know more about the film’s history, read Peter Biskind’s book, “Down and Dirty Pictures.”
